Stored your TwelveFold in Leather? Read this.

Leather stopped supporting Ordinals on May 18, 2026. Inscriptions in Leather are no longer shown and no longer protected. The change itself does not move or delete any inscription. Whatever is at your Leather Taproot address (starts with bc1p) is still there unless you have sent bitcoin from that address since.

TwelveFold now supports Xverse and UniSat. Leather and Magic Eden Wallet can no longer connect to this site.

Before you do anything

Leather's own notice: Deprecation of Ordinals inscriptions support in Leather

Step 1: Check where it is

  1. In Leather, open the account you used and copy the Taproot address (starts with bc1p).
  2. Open ordiscan.com or ordinals.com and search that address. Your TwelveFold should be listed there with its current output.
  3. If the current output belongs to your address, it is still there. Leave that account alone until you have it open in a wallet that understands inscriptions. If it is not there, stop and email support@leather.io before doing anything else.

Don't rely on the "current owner" shown on twelvefold.io for this; the explorers read the chain directly.

Step 2: Open the same keys in a wallet that supports Ordinals

Your Secret Key works in other wallets. Which wallet depends on which Leather account holds the piece. Leather's Taproot addresses follow m/86'/0'/(account number minus 1)'/0/0: Account 1 is m/86'/0'/0'/0/0, Account 2 is m/86'/0'/1'/0/0, and so on.

Whichever wallet you use: before doing anything else, confirm the Ordinals/Taproot address it shows is exactly the bc1p address you copied in Step 1. If it is not, you have opened the wrong account. Stop.

Account 1 (the first account Leather created)

  1. Install Xverse from xverse.app/download. Choose "Restore an existing wallet".
  2. Choose Leather as the wallet provider and enter your 12- or 24-word Secret Key.
  3. Xverse shows two options. Choose Wallet 1 (Account-based derivation path). That is the Bitcoin side. Wallet 2 is Stacks. If the wallet has no balance and no transaction history, Xverse preselects Wallet 2; switch to Wallet 1.
  4. If asked which address to use for payments, choose Native SegWit.
  5. Your TwelveFold should appear under Collectibles. Check the Ordinals address matches Step 1.

Account 2 or later

Leather says Xverse does not support these accounts and recommends UniSat. Xverse's own import guide describes account-based scanning for Leather, so it may work; try it first, and if the bc1p address does not match, use UniSat:

  1. Install UniSat. Choose "I already have a wallet".
  2. Enter your Secret Key. Set the address type to Taproot.
  3. In Custom HdPath, enter the full path for your account: m/86'/0'/1'/0/0 for Account 2, m/86'/0'/2'/0/0 for Account 3, and so on (the number after 0'/ is your account number minus one). UniSat's docs say the path must be entered exactly. If the address does not match, don't guess: email support@leather.io, who publish a guide for exactly this.
  4. Confirm the address UniSat shows equals your bc1p from Step 1 before anything else.

Importing is not migration. Leather still holds the same keys. Until you move the piece (Step 3), keep treating that Leather account as off-limits for sending. Importing also does not cancel any marketplace listing you signed earlier.

Ledger users

Your inscription is controlled by the Ledger, not by Leather's software keys. Never type the Ledger recovery phrase anywhere. In the Xverse browser extension: Account menu > Add hardware wallet account, open the Bitcoin app on the Ledger, and let Xverse scan. It lists accounts under a "Legacy" and a "Standard (like Ledger Live)" path; pick the account whose Taproot address matches your bc1p. Don't have Ledger Live and Xverse open with the device at the same time. Don't use Ledger Live to move inscriptions.

Step 3 (optional): Move it to a fresh wallet

You don't have to. Once you can see the piece in Xverse or UniSat you can leave it there. If you want a wallet Leather never touched:

  1. Create a new wallet in Xverse and copy its Ordinals (bc1p) address.
  2. Put a small amount of BTC in the wallet where the piece is visible, for the fee. In Xverse that is the payment (bc1q) address. In UniSat with a Taproot account, fund the same Taproot address; UniSat selects coins around inscriptions.
  3. Open the TwelveFold in that wallet's collectibles view, choose Send, paste the new bc1p address, and confirm on screen (and on the Ledger, if you use one). Send the inscription item, not "BTC". Use a normal fee; there is no rush.
  4. After one confirmation, look the new address up on ordiscan.com to confirm.

If you listed a TwelveFold for sale from Leather

A listing is a signed offer that stays valid on-chain until the inscription moves. Cancelling on twelvefold.io does not cancel the signature. If you no longer want to sell at that price, move the piece (Step 3).
